John is the Band Captain for the Marching Mustangs, playing Tenor Saxophone and the Cowbell. He's been a part of the band for a total of 5 years, and his favorite halftime show theme was our 2021 production: KISS! His favorite stand tune to play is Don't Fear the Reaper. His favorite band memory is "when the show finally comes together every year." His favorite accomplishment is "being a part of the Boys State Band." When asked what he's looking forward to this season, John answered, "Getting best in class at competition." The advice he would give to new members is, "Always push yourself to be better, learn from every mistake." His favorite quote is, "Let's do that again but this time not suck" - Mr. Strait

Percussion Section Leader
Yissele is the Percussion Section Leader for the Marching Mustangs, playing Snare, as well as various other percussion instruments. She's been a part of the band for a total of 6 years, and her favorite halftime show themes were our 2021, "KISS", and 2025, "Journey", productions! Her favorite stand tune to play is Hey Baby. Her favorite band memory is "winning the band olympics last year (2024)!" Her favorite accomplishment is "our first time getting 1's at a competition!" When asked what she's looking forward to this season, Yissele answered, "enjoying my last football games and competitions with the rest of the band!" The advice she would give to new members is, "enjoy every second of it, being in band was truly the highlight of my high school career!" Her favorite quote is, "show the would that something good can work, and it can work for you."
Ally Chappell
Dance Line Captain
Ally is the Dance Line Captain for the Marching Mustangs Auxiliary. She's been a part of the band for a total of 3 years, and her favorite halftime show themes was our 2025 production: "Journey." Her favorite stand tune is Fight Song. Her favorite band memory/accomplishment is "being a part of the first dance line and winning 1s at competition!" When asked what she's looking forward to this season, Ally answered, "I am looking forward to games and competitions!" The advice she would give to new members is, "Work hard and have fun!"
